The historic market town of Garstang sits alongside the hotel golf course and like us is bordered by the River Wyre, and Lancaster canal once named in the Doomsday book Garstang has a long history which can be explored in the medieval weinds and pathways which lead to the ruins of Greenhalgh castle the source of the stone that built the hotel. Head north to the county Town of Lancaster and its fascinating history from the Romans garrison to the trial of the Pendle Witches and the beauty of Williamson park there is a full day of sites to take in.
